Germany: No date for Nord Stream 2 certification completion

BERLIN, Nov 3 (PRIME) – There is no date for completion of certification of Russia's Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, spokesperson for Germany's Economic Affairs and Energy Ministry Beate Baron said on Wednesday.

"The known certification process of operator Nord Stream 2 continues, in the Federal Network Agency, I cannot mention the date (of procedure completion)," Baron said.

The official also said that Germany's energy efficiency remains good, and there is no gas deficit.

Certification of Nord Stream 2 AG as an independent operator will ensure that the Nord Stream 2 project complies with the E.U. Gas Directive. First, the Federal Network Agency of Germany is to draft a ruling, and then the European Commission is to revise it.
